John Macdonald has over 20 years of experience of working at a senior level in the NHS. This includes 15 years as Chief Executive of several teaching hospitals. 7 years as a chair of a teaching hospital. Prior to this John spent 10 years as a management and organisation development consultant and 6 years as an economic adviser to the World Bank, UN and HM Government. John has a strong personal commitment to providing high quality and efficient health care.
John’s areas of interest and focus are:
- Organisation and health economy strategy development and implementation
- Board effectiveness
- Implementing organisational change, in particular working on change with clinicians
- Coaching and mentoring of Chief Executives and Chairs
